Sandvik Materials Technology
is part of the high-technology Sandvik Group. The Group does business through 300 companies in 130 countries and has approximately 37,000 employees worldwide.
Sandvik Materials Technology NAFTA, located in Clarks Summit, PA, is the largest steel subsidiary outside of Sweden. It has more than a century of tradition and experience as a producer of high-duty steels. Established in 1971, the plants at Clarks Summit are home to approximately 285 employees.
Tubular Products is the largest product group, comprising a wide range of seamless and welded pipes and tube, fittings and flanges, mainly intended for those industries that make high demands on reliability in operation, corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. Some examples are the chemical and petrochemical industries, the power industry, the oil and gas exploitation and electronics industry. Other Sandvik Materials Technology specialties are alloys of nickel, titanium, and zirconium for advanced purposes such as tubes for the nuclear power and aerospace industries.
Sandvik Materials Technology’s strip and wire products in high-alloy steel grades can be found in various fields of application worldwide. Razor blades, various types of stainless springs and welding consumables are well-known examples of this. The company is also a major producer of strip and wire for precision parts used in diverse industrial fields as road vehicles, electronics, communications, power, and for medical purposes.
As a leader in the design and manufacture of custom-engineered power springs, reels, assemblies and specialized tooling, we have over 60 years experience creating products that fulfill the individual requirements of our customers and meet their most demanding specifications. This experience, together with our unmatched engineering know-how, coordinated teamwork and novel thinking, enables us to respond quickly to customer problems with quality solutions.
Sandvik Materials Technology is a research-intensive enterprise. Each year about 4% of the turnover is invested in research and development of new products and production methods. There is a strong commitment to the manufacture of highly upgraded products in stainless steel and other alloys.
