Profiles

Stainless steel shaped wire (profiles) in a wide variety of near-net shapes, minimizing machining and finishing operations. The shaped wire is delivered with bright cold-rolled surface and close dimensional tolerances.

Sandvik's in-house tool manufacturing allows for special shapes in small batches, and we assist in developing a design that suits the customer's needs.

Mechanical properties

Sandvik shaped wire (profiles) can be delivered from annealed to hard condition. Tensile strength according to customer's request, with tolerance +/- 100 Mpa.

Straightness

Straightness is measured over a specified length. Standard value is 5 mm/m.

Delivery forms

Sandvik shaped wire can be supplied in the following delivery forms:

  • Spools
  • Straightened lengths of 3–4 m (+/- 10 mm for fixed lengths)

Sandvik's shaped wire testing capabilities include, for example:

  • Intergranular corrosion test
  • Mechanical test
  • Microstructure test
  • Microcleanliness test
  • Ultrasonic test at billet stage
