Sandvik Ni99.6 (Wire)
Datasheet updated 2013-02-18 14:23:37 (supersedes all previous editions)
Sandvik Ni99.6 is a vacuum melted pure nickel grade with very low release of gases and good characteristics of thermal demands and cold working. The grade is typically used for lamp bulb electrodes.
Suitable wire grades for electrodes and lamp fuses are nickel alloys containing up to 5 % manganese and Sandvik NiMn5ROE is another good example.
The alloys for conducting electrodes have good characteristics of response to cold fabrication and to thermal demands. These alloys do not permit evolution of gases during their utilization.
Sandvik Ni99.6 alloy, with its high purity, has low evolution of gases under vacuum, which is a very important characteristic for applications in the electric-electronic industry.
