Sandvik 31S (Welding flux)

Datasheet updated 2011-12-16 16:31:57 (supersedes all previous editions)

Sandvik 31S is a neutral unalloyed agglomerated flux giving good slag removal and fine bead appearance. Sandvik 31S is intended primarily for welding with strip or wire electrodes of the 310LMo type, such as Sandvik 25.22.2.LMn, for urea applications.

Standards

  • EN number 760 S A CS 2

Alloying vector

The alloying vector describes the difference in chemical composition between the filler metal and the undiluted all-weld metal due to the influence of the flux. The following table presents data for Sandvik 31S in combination with Sandvik 25.22.2.LMn strip electrode.

Element Alloying vector
C +0.01
Si +0.5
Mn -0.7
Cr -0.7
Ni 0
Mo 0
N 0

Chemical composition (nominal), %

The following data are typical for non-heat treated all-weld metal from submerged-arc welding with Sandvik flux 31S and Sandvik wire electrodes.

Sandvik 25.22.2.LMn C Si Mn Cr Ni Mo N
Strip electrode 0.022 0.63 3.6 24.2 22 2.0 0.13
Wire electrode 0.025 0.65 3.8 24.5 22 2.0 0.12
