Environment, health and safety
Concern for the environment, health and safety is a fundamental consideration in all our operations, whether they involve process changes, new investments or product developments. Within Sandvik Materials Technology all units with production activities fulfills the requirements of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. The company has a global EHS management system for these units.
The system is used to achieve both environmental and health and safety objectives. For example, we now have effective heat conservation programs in place, more efficient handling of waste and are working on reducing the number of work injuries.
Many of our products also contribute significantly to improve the environment or reduce the health and safety risks in our customers' businesses.
